Surf Ranch Popoyo, ocean view houses and condos on Nicaragua's Emerald Coast
Surf Ranch Popoyo is the largest resort in the Surf Ranch family. It is spread over 25 acres of ocean view land on the Emerald Coast of Nicaragua, in Tola, between Astillero and Guasacate, and it is a few minutes' walk from some very good waves.
Houses and condos
There are 5 ocean view houses with 180 degree views of the Pacific. Each house has 3 or 4 bedrooms, its own outdoor pool, private parking and a small yard. They have the best views on the property and work well for families and groups.
The condos are in a three story building of 18 ocean view apartments, and the views get better the higher you go. Each one has a balcony looking over the Pacific and comes fully furnished with hot water and air conditioning. Condos have 2 bedrooms with 1 or 2 bathrooms. Long term stays in a house or condo are also available.
The beach and the area
Through our partnership with Hotel Teonoeste, which is on the beach near the resort, guests get special access for a per person fee. That includes a 2 km stretch of private beach, a beachside pool, changing rooms, showers and pool towels, with a restaurant and bar next to it.
Popoyo is known for surf, with breaks like Playgrounds, Lance's Left, Astillero Rivermouth, Santana and Popoyo itself. Away from the water there are tide pools, natural hot springs, horseback riding and two golf courses nearby.
Getting here
The resort is 17 km from Costa Esmeralda Airport, which has flights to and from Managua and to Liberia and San Jose in Costa Rica. By road it is less than an hour from Rivas and about 1.5 hours from Managua.
