Surf Ranch Tamarindo is a small surf hotel on the main road in Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, across from the beach. The main surf break is about a 30 second walk away, and the town's restaurants, shops and nightlife are all within easy walking distance.
The rooms
There are 9 rooms. Queen and Twin rooms sleep up to 2 guests. The Family Suite has a queen bed and a bunk bed for up to 4, and the Double Queen Suite has 2 queen beds for up to 4. Every room has air conditioning, hot water, a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, a mini fridge and a work desk, with daily housekeeping and access to a surfboard rack. The suites have a private terrace.
What the stay is like
Breakfast is served every morning at Café 13, right next door. Check-in is self check-in, so your door code is sent to you and you can arrive on your own schedule. If you want a slower last morning, ask us about late checkout.
Tamarindo has waves for every level and warm water all year. If you want lessons, we can point you to our local surf partners. Playa Grande, next door, is one of the most important leatherback turtle nesting beaches in the world, and howler monkeys, capuchins and iguanas are a normal part of the day here.
Getting here
The closest international airport is Liberia (LIR), about 1 to 1.5 hours by car. We can arrange a private transfer that meets you at arrivals.
